Re: Fast battery drain
Screenshots of battery use would really help here.
My GF reported battery drain on her G5 this morning after not having any issues at all recently. I looked at the stats and Facebook and Facebook messenger were the culprits. Looks like a recent update could be the issue. Several complaints over on XDA across multiple devices in regards to Facebook as well.
Facebook is always a problem, it will ping to your location every few minutes or so, plus it's collecting data on you wherever you go on your phone.
Here what to do
Clear your cache- settings, storage cached data
Disable Facebook notifications entirely in the app, then go into your settimgs-apps and give it no permissions
You can do this with all apps draining battery by just looking at some of the data with gsam or even the stock battery app.
If you just updated and didn't clear cache prior that could be an issue as well. Clear the cache and restart the phone as optimization of the update affects application behavior from a prior build.
Other good tips for this phone is turnoff the Google backup in the backup and reset settings tab. Once you've done it, you have the data, doesn't need to happen every few hours.
Also put GPS in battery saving mode, you won't notice it if you're not using maps. When you use maps just turn it back on high accuracy. It's a big difference.
Go through all the apps in settings and apps and make sure you limit permissions in as many apps as possible. So many developers have their applications set to use them all so turn em back off if your not using them.
Go into your accounts and make sure you don't have stuff syncing that you don't use that much.
That should help!
