fast boot not working

Yeah it still takes the normal amount of time to boot for me with fast boot enabled.

Fast Boot will only work if you turn off the phone, if you restart it, it will NOT work.

There's a ROOT menu for advanced power options that will always give you this option even if you restart, its coming, its just being worked on.

The Fastboot on my Tbolt is pretty quick at 8 seconds, still faster than waiting for nearly a minute for the Tbolt to run from a COLD start.

Since I have a non htc phone right now I have to ask. I like turning my phone off to charge it at night, so would I enable fast boot then turn it off and wake up in the morning turn it on and only take like 6 secs to load?

Fastboot works for me when I turn if off. As NCX mentioned, restart does not use fastboot.

While fastboot brings screen up in about 12 sec still about a minute till network connects.

Mine is about 8 seconds from start to home screen maybe a few more seconds for the networks to kick in which is fine because I don't use my phone until after 8am anyway

Similar to the OP, fast boot is not working on my phone. I am not pressing restart; I hit power off. I went into the settings and checked the fast boot option. Don't really know why it is not working. It said it might be due to an app, but I have only installed a few games.

I figured it out:D, Turn off your WiFi and it will do the fast boot. If you have WiFi on it will do the regular (Longer Boot)

Fast boot is under Menu/Settings/Power or Menu/Settings/Applications. For people having trouble, it won't work if you have wifi on or if you are using a different launcher like ADW or Launcherpro. My Thunderbolt took 1min 44secs to boot without it and 11secs to boot with it.

To anyone still having issues with this, I have a theory: I just went into a 4g area and tried the fast boot, and it worked! I live in a 3G area, where fast boot did not work for me. I don't think this is a coincidence. Just thought I would pass along the info.

Really? That's odd, because I've always had WiFi on, and it still fast booted....

Mine used to fast boot. But no more. Don't know what is different.

EDIT: Well, does now. :) Beats me. It did at first, then not, now it does again?!? Fast boot is really fast. Instead of seeing the ThunderBolt lightning boot screen sorta freeze for a while, that point is exactly when it boots directly into the lock screen. So, no freezing clouds. Very quick.

Okay, I narrowed this down, for me anyway.

Bottom line:
-Will not fastboot if running on battery
-Will fastboot if plugged in to charging cable

I have no idea if this is by design or not. But that's how it is for me. I've tried with and without eHRPD, with and without 4G/LTE, with and without Wifi. None made any difference.

For me it works with WiFi on but not on 3G. Haven't tried 4G yet.

It works for me whenever ive tred. My question is when and why should we use fastboot versus a full boot. since its like hybernation and not a complete "palette cleanse", whats the point?
