"Fast Boot": What Is It And Is It A Good Or Bad Thing?

Other functional aspects of the phone?

The default setting seems to be "off." I have to assume there is a reason for this.

Just speeds up the booting... I never notice anything with the battery.

Possibly? Although this fastboot and the DNA fast boot could be different. The DNA fast boot could possibly be taken for exactly what it says, a fast boot haha

There was a poster in another thread that said the DNA fast boot is more like hibernate mode. It doesn't actually shut the phone or all the apps down completely. Thus allowing the phone to boot up quicker and grabbing the cached processes it has stored

Well as far as battery life is concerned, the fastboot option is under the settings category called 'Power' so I would imagine it is a hibernate type feature that keeps power to RAM for the fast boot performance.

DNA Fastboot is just literally booting up faster.
