Fast Charging issue

I was using a charger at work that I used to use to charge my S10+, and others have used it as well. I turned fast charging on my S21 Ultra on and hooked the charger up. After 1 hour, it had only gone from 42% to 57%. The phone said it was fast charging and should have taken a little over an hour to fully charge it from the original 42%. Anyone else had this issue?

USBC isn't as bad as micro USB was but I found that any time more than one person uses a charger there's a good chance it'll get messed up because someone will be careless or just care less especially in an environment where the charger didn't really belong to anyone. I'm surprised to hear that it still said fast charging but this is why I've stopped allowing my kids and others to use the same cable as me.

I haven't had it with the S21 but have with other devices.

I'll bring another cable in tomorrow and give it a try and see what happens, just odd to me that it said fast charging but it obviously wasn't.

Yeah that is odd but how many models ago was it since micro USB was the standard? When I was having issues with those it usually popped up a warning that the device was show charging or charging shower than normal. Maybe when it happens to USBC it's harder for it to know something is up?

Did you buy any chance notice if it was warmer than usual?

Keep in mind these are just my experiences and by no means set in stone. Someone else may have a different answer.

S8 was the first USB-C device in the Galaxy S series.

I didn't arrive to Samsung until the S10 series. Prior to that I was exclusively HTC. I'm sure their devices that match the year the S8 released probably had USB-C but only my last device with them had it.

I'm assuming you've probably been back to work since our last exchange. Have you noticed the issue again? Did you try the old cable or end up bringing your own?

I forgot to bring a different cable to work today, did use the setup that I had at work again and was still charging slowly.

Two questions then, did it still say fast charging? This only happens at work, correct?

I mean if it only happens there I'd feel pretty safe saying that it's that cable but we won't really know till you bring another.

Still said fast charging but still charging slow. At home I use wireless charging so haven't really noticed it.
