Do you think Samsung will use QC 4.0 for the Note 8 this year? I know they have been using their Adaptive fast charging since the Note 4, but it's kind of slow compared to my V20 of what I have seen. So, anyone think they will move to a faster, more efficient method?

Do you happen to own a Samsung device? How long does it take you to charge your device from 0-100%?
I have the Galaxy S8+. It take about an hour and forty minutes to charge when it's basically dead. Doesn't really take too long. I wish it was QC 4, but I don't see them paying the licensing fees. Also, they probably don't want to change too much from the S8+ as they don't want anything to cause any explosions.

Lol, yeah, good point.

my s8 plus charges fast enough for me . And the fact that the battery is a beast that's not needed til the end of the night so I'm good . the others that charge faster ....i don't care

Yeah, I'd be fine enough with the charging in the S8's anyways, just wanted to know if they might finally change it.

QC 4.0 is a Qualcomm technology that to my knowledge is incompatible with Exynos and other non Qualcomm processors. Samsung uses Exynos globally, and they want the same experience on all versions of their phone.

So unless they can actually get QC 4.0 on Exynos, don't expect it on the SD 835 version of the phone.

Darn, thanks.

It would be nice to see the next gen of Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging. Been on this one for a few years now.

Fast charging is always nice. I have a oneplus3 as a stopgap (after a failed relationship with an Xperia z5 premium) and it's dash charging is fanatic. My wife's s7 edge feels old fashioned in comparison...... Still I'll buy it without fast charging, just looking forward to getting back to wireless charging.
