Favorite contacts widget

I am having the same issue, just picked up an S4 for me, and the wife has the Note2. She has the widget, I do not.. :/
Very odd.

Its in there. When I installed Nova Launcher it popped as a widget I can use. But when I reverted back to TW I couldn't use it anymore. Not sure what the deal is.

It's in Apex's widgets, but when you try to put it on the screen, it says there is not enough room (even on an empty screen).

I have it in Nova and the size is listed as 4x7. Could it just be too large for TouchWiz and other launchers if the grid and widget settings aren't right?

Curious if you found it. I'm looking for this as well. I was actually looking for the favorite apps and favorite settings app like I had on the S3.

For favorite contacts I like the App called qdial

I am totally amazed that there is no real answer as to why some S4's have it and some dont.
I just got the phone 2 days, the favorite widget missing is driving me nuts but why my phone goes into 1x data mode is the real problem. My Rezound never went into 1x mode at my house, it always bounced between 3g adn 4g now this new S4 goes into 1x 50% of time and never into 4g
Its starting to seem I may have made a big mistake by getting this phone
