Feb 7th?!?! What do you think?

Such a let down. A good looking device. But the whole event for a single phone. Wth?

Definitely sticking with the evo...I will say I'm kinda let down...I thought this was the perfect oppurtunity for sprint to really WOW us being that they didn't really do anything at CES but the concept of the phone is pretty neat ...just not a bog fan of kyocera (-__-)

Life is about EVOlution

GET A CLUE - THIS WAS NOT CES for SPRINT...That's CTIA how many times does this need to be repeated...CTIA CTIA CTIA CTIA CTIA

This phone was just to announce something different....Its not even targeted towards us GEEKS EVO users...its for Tweens and Teens, just look at it the phone is a dual screen Toy....Not for Power Users.

Calm down....damn

Not for power users? One of the main point they were trying to make with this thing was multitasking. Too bad they picked the wrong cpu to do this with.

Even if it had a dual core processor in it, I'd still prefer a "normal" phone like the Evo over this gimicky thing.

As someone else posted, it would've been totally fine if they just announced that they had this new device and it is super cool etc. However, the way they made it seem as if it was a revolutionary leap is unacceptable. A 3d device is better than this. I hope the best for all you Sprint subscribers, as there are no decent devices on the horizon (not even a Honeycomb tablet!)

All Sprint actually said was that it was an industry first. Which this phone is. It is the bloggers and us forum geeks that hyped it up to be something revolutionary and life changing. Everybody who is super diappointed is because they let it get really hyped in their head. Most Sprint users actually know that Sprint announces at CTIA in March. So there will be decent phones on the horizon. Patience is a virtue. But that doesn't happen in this I have to have it right this very second society.

Do you have a source for all of this information?

I'm going to go with everyone else on the forum and say that this is a major fail. Sprint needs to hire someone else to head their innovation department.

Fail!

The best they can do is go home and pretend it never happened.

Sprint just showed the world how completely clueless they are.

OK, I predicted a 3D screen. Munch munch munch time to eat crow. Those of you who predicted WM7 or BlackBerries, you know who you are. Admit it. Grab a wing.

It's not a bad phone, except it's only 3G. The reaction is 100% due to the pre-show hype, not the phone. It was a lame waste of a magician and rental hall. Anybody who waited to buy a phone for this announcement has good reason to be mad.

I suspect this isn't entirely Sprint's fault. Sprint doesn't get the same phones as VZW or ATT because they don't subsidize as much, plain and simple. Their last attempt at a heavily subsidized exclusive was a massive, massive fail that lead to the most-returned phone in their history. Close to 100% of Palm Pre owners switched to something else when their contract was up.

I suspect that in order to get the phone, they had to keep it secret and then put on the party. I guess that's better than eating into their monthly revenue with a big subsidy.

I have a Nintendo DS, and I have never been impressed with developers' choices for using both screens. It's usually limited to scores on one screen, game on the other. Android developers aren't really any more innovative than DS developers; I expect dual-screen software on the Echo to be about the same.

Or I'll have to eat another crow.

All the companies release stupid phones. Anyone got a Kin?

People act like this is the only phone Sprint will be releasing this year. Oh no, you haven't heard the line up for the year. You are waiting for phones Verzion has announced. You are waiting for phones Sprint hasn't announced. Who cares...you are still waiting either way.

I can bet sprint was celebrating last night. And for good reason. They did some good marketing. They sent out invites promising an industry first, which they gave, and a good slogan. They hired someone who kinda fit the slogan. They then let the bloggers and phone nuts like us create so much hype and get it talked about. Then they announced the phone and what does everybody do? Talk about it and post and blog about it. Which is what is wanted. It doesn't matter if it is good or bad. It is being talked about which means a lot of people will check it out when it is released. It also means people who wouldn't know about it now will because of all the videos and blogs.

Well kinda fun and funny reading over the predictions that were pretty much way off. The only one that seemed to predict it was Q-fugee. Amazing reading all the hype and then seeing what it was. Man what a let down IMO. I know others have been saying wait for CITA. Sure that is fine but lets face it SPrint has the WORST selection of top end phones. I know I have been with them for 10 years.

I know they have the Evo, but really that is the only phone that appears to the top end user. Yes they have the Epic and Shift. I don't know why but Sprint loves the slider phones. I would be happier with the Galaxy line with out the slider. The reason why I am disappointed in SPRINT is the hope of this announcement. I wanted something to look forward too. Well they came up real short when other companies have already announced 3-4 new great phones. Know people are saying well wait another couple months and then MAY announce a great phone. Well and if they dont?
