Such a let down. A good looking device. But the whole event for a single phone. Wth?

GET A CLUE - THIS WAS NOT CES for SPRINT...That's CTIA how many times does this need to be repeated...CTIA CTIA CTIA CTIA CTIA
This phone was just to announce something different....Its not even targeted towards us GEEKS EVO users...its for Tweens and Teens, just look at it the phone is a dual screen Toy....Not for Power Users.
Calm down....damn
As someone else posted, it would've been totally fine if they just announced that they had this new device and it is super cool etc. However, the way they made it seem as if it was a revolutionary leap is unacceptable. A 3d device is better than this. I hope the best for all you Sprint subscribers, as there are no decent devices on the horizon (not even a Honeycomb tablet!)

Well kinda fun and funny reading over the predictions that were pretty much way off. The only one that seemed to predict it was Q-fugee. Amazing reading all the hype and then seeing what it was. Man what a let down IMO. I know others have been saying wait for CITA. Sure that is fine but lets face it SPrint has the WORST selection of top end phones. I know I have been with them for 10 years.
I know they have the Evo, but really that is the only phone that appears to the top end user. Yes they have the Epic and Shift. I don't know why but Sprint loves the slider phones. I would be happier with the Galaxy line with out the slider. The reason why I am disappointed in SPRINT is the hope of this announcement. I wanted something to look forward too. Well they came up real short when other companies have already announced 3-4 new great phones. Know people are saying well wait another couple months and then MAY announce a great phone. Well and if they dont?
OK, I predicted a 3D screen. Munch munch munch time to eat crow. Those of you who predicted WM7 or BlackBerries, you know who you are. Admit it. Grab a wing.
It's not a bad phone, except it's only 3G. The reaction is 100% due to the pre-show hype, not the phone. It was a lame waste of a magician and rental hall. Anybody who waited to buy a phone for this announcement has good reason to be mad.
I suspect this isn't entirely Sprint's fault. Sprint doesn't get the same phones as VZW or ATT because they don't subsidize as much, plain and simple. Their last attempt at a heavily subsidized exclusive was a massive, massive fail that lead to the most-returned phone in their history. Close to 100% of Palm Pre owners switched to something else when their contract was up.
I suspect that in order to get the phone, they had to keep it secret and then put on the party. I guess that's better than eating into their monthly revenue with a big subsidy.
I have a Nintendo DS, and I have never been impressed with developers' choices for using both screens. It's usually limited to scores on one screen, game on the other. Android developers aren't really any more innovative than DS developers; I expect dual-screen software on the Echo to be about the same.
Or I'll have to eat another crow.
