Feedback on Google Assistant button?

As shipments are rolling in, I'm curious about your impressions on the Google Assistant button. Do you find it useful, or more of a gimmick?

On previous phones, did you use the long-press on the home button to access the assistant? If so, do you use the dedicated button on the G7 comparatively more or less?

It's not bad. You get used to it fairly quickly. Very similar to the squeeze function on Google Pixel 2.

Definitely more reliable than voice activation. I'll probably never use voice activation unless I just can't reach the phone.
