ok so first off, i noticed that im running 2.3.4, and isnt the update that sprint is pushing 2.3.5? also, ive heard this 2.3.5 takes away the hot spot functionality, is this true, cuz im thinking i need this update considering its reading my wifi as a poor connection with the router in the other room, and being that my mothers evo4g has comparatively better service in the same spot. also, does this mean that the update just hasnt hit me yet, considering they started pushing it out on monday? also, when i went into accounts/sync, there is an option to add a facebook account, but every time i try to add a facebook account, nothing happens, i touch the facebook option, but no prompt to add my account... any ideas? lastly, im sure the sense ui thats with the evo(htc) my mother has is all the differences in the home screens, am i correct in assuming this? i like the way the calender is optimized to the home screen size. also, is there any way to download widgets like the weather/time widget on the evo home screen, or is that part of the sense ui only? r widgets just built into apps when u dl them? can u optimize the size of the widgets, like the calender widget? thanks for all the help, i just got my nexus and i love it, its so buttery smooth, and i cant wait till i get more accustomed to it :)

o yea, one of the most important things, and i hope its not the case, but does this phone take FOREVER to charge or is it just me? cuz ive had mine charging for a while and its still not 100%...

This has been discussed on multiple threads here, the phone will not show 100% charge, instead the max is around 95% - that is normal.

Answering some of your questions:

1. Is likely you have not yet received the 2.3.5 update, nothing that you can do about that other than downloading the pulled update.zip and doing a manual install. Please search the forum for this if you are interested - plenty information around.

2. I am not sure if you are actually looking at your Nexus or your mother's Evo when you talk about Facebook... the Evo has Facebook on the settings sync account list, not the Nexus. Google removed FB calendar/contact sync from OS 2.3 on the Nexus... again that is discussed elsewhere you can search for the reasons if you want to know. The Evo on OS 2.3 has FB functionality because HTC added it back as part of Sense.

3. Don't understand what the last part of your post is but if I understood you are wondering about additional widgets and programs available on the Evo and not on the Nexus, those are part of Sense which is the OS enhancement on HTC phones and not available on the Nexus. You can not DL any of the Sense widgets/programs from the Evo to your Nexus, again those are proprietary parts of Sense and not available on the market. Regarding the Evo clock/weather widget, a simple market search will reveal multiple options many free. My personal favorite is Beautiful Widgets, not free but well worth the minimal cost.

As have all the OP's questions. Not trying to be a jerk...but folks need to at least skim through the threads before posting questions.

No...Facebook is there as an option in the "Add Account" page, but trying to sync it won't work (which apparently is the functionality that Google pulled out.

first off, thanks for the quick reply, i appreciate the help. as for #2, i am looking at my accounts/sync area and there is an option for FB but im guessing that the reason its not working is because the functionality was removed as u stated, hence just leaving the icon useless...

and as for #3, the widgets, i was just simply asking if u can dl widgets from anywhere on ur nexus, i kno there is going to be widgets that r for htc/google, but i was just wondering if u could dl different ones that arent necessarily built into the phone, like through the marketplace.

thanks again +1

Not even listed on mine, guess this phone shipped with different OS versions.

Look at my edited answer, there is some additional info there for you.

can u reassign the size of the widgets or is that just an as is type deal?

as is. if you use something like SwitchPro or Minimalistic Text, they give you a good range of widget size - from 1x1 right up to 2x4 or even larger. a lot of apps come with widgets and some (such as Audible - first one that comes to mind) provide a large & small option.

Next time please try not to make it a run on sentance. Bullet points and numbers are your friend

For #3 the answer is a yes. Sometimes you can find Widgets but sometimes they come with a program. It will probably take some time to get it the way you want it it and then you will change it up again. I belie e there are some threads with screenshots to helpyou get started.

One last thing is get the Amazon app store.
