FHD or WQHD?

I'm using WQHD since day one. I'm getting a full day with between 6 and 8 hours SOT.

I use WQHD as well. They eye can't really tell the difference but I get a full day anyway. Plus, gotta use the best setting. Lol

WQHD and routinely get 4-6 hours sot with messenger and FB and all other social media running in the background.

But no maximum brightness. Auto only.

Why buy a WQHD if you just want to use Full HD to preserve battery? Buy a compact portable battery charger and you don't have to worry. Anker makes really good ones. I can get through a whole day if I don't abused video watching. I only do one full charged per night.

WQHD since battery is fine with it. I do notice a small difference but you get used to it, but still go WQHD.

Im on the S8. I've used fhd for a week and then switched to wqhd for the following week. Haven't noticed a considerable battery difference. Maybe a few percent. My friend and I compared the two side by side. He also has an S8. He and I could both notice a difference in quality. Letters look sharper, video is better. etc. I would say to just try it out.

If you would rather have the battery, you would gotten last year model. It's like buying a 4k TV and you change the display settings to downscale it to HD because you want to "save energy and lower you bill." Don't understand the buying logic behind it. The major component of the S8 is the screen and QHD resolution. Otherwise buy a s7 edge.

My old eyes can't really tell the difference, so mine is just on HD.. Maybe if I did VR or watched movies etc...

FHD. I can't tell the difference. I think these ultra high resolutions are good for VR or 4K content but everyday use... Just a selling point. I mean, c'mon, you guys seem to be doing it just because it's there. More power to ya, though!

My eyes are 54 years old and with my glasses I definitely see a difference. Wqhd here because fonts look better overall.
Doesn't seem to drain the battery more with normal usage.

can't tell a big difference screen wise, but performance wise I think it's much smoother on FHD and snappier

I don't see any discernible difference and would rather have the battery.
I agree with you. My s8 is on just regular HD and my eyes could never tell the difference! Plus just like you said, I'd rather have the battery than anything else. The phone runs cooler. The s8 owners to really tell the difference in screen resolution in my opinion are the gamers with the quad HD resolutions. I also have my brightness set to automatic so the screen is viewable in the direct sunlight.

I have perfect 20/20 vision, and my eyes still can't tell a difference of the higher resolution settings. I mean I tried full HD or for a little bit but then just scaled it down. Still looks great to me!

Exactly for VR content, gaming etc the higher screen resolution are perfect. But honestly for regular phone/application usage most people just don't need it. Only turn up the resolution to the phone, if you're doing VR, it slaughters battery. I tried my dad's Google cardboard out a few times with my Galaxy s8.

Yeah, I know the huge selling point of the Galaxy s8 is the amazing quad HD screen. And that's when people start complaining that their phones battery doesn't last all day long etc...
