I have gotten this message twice now, first time trying to open a xls. file. I have the full version of documents to go, which I thought supported xls files, so that surprised me.

The second time, I was trying to download that goofy ringtone from the Geico commercials. They have a spot on their website specifiaclly for ringtones.

Downloaded that as an mp3 file and got the same message.

What am I doing wrong?

No one has run into this? or is the answer so clear that everyone is assuming I must just be an idiot to not know how to do this? ;)

Well, if I remember right, you have to put your ringtone in a file folder labled "Audio" and then you will see it when you look at the rest of your ringtones. As far as accessing an xls file with DTG (I'm assuming it's an Android app)... I don't know why it wouldn't work, but you might try using the stock Quickoffice app on your phone.

Hope this helps....

You should be able to open xls files from using quickoffice which should be on your phone or go to the market and get docs to go there is a paid and free version.

You can get that Geico commercial ringtone from Zedge - it's called Ring-ding on that application.

I'm not much help on why you can't do it through the Geico site though. :(

I have documents to go, paid version, on my phone. That is why I don't understand why it can't open this file. It never gives me the option of what program to use to open the file, just says, file not supported by this phone.

How do I force it to use a different program to open files?

Also when I downloaded the mp3 it never asked what file to put it, or what program to use to open it either.

I was using Dolphin HD, so I uninstalled it and retried both these files using stock browser, no difference.

Can you open the DTG application, and then open your document from there?

Regarding the ringtone, it sounds like you have no idea where the phone stored it. You could download it to a computer and either sync it or email it to yourself; hopefully then you could put it where you want it.

The ringtone is listed under downloads in the browser.

I tried opening DTG and searching for the file, but it is not there. I tried downloading it again just to be sure what I am telling everyone here.

It is an XLS file, when I click on it, in the stock browser, to download, before it downloads it imediately says, this file not supported by your phone, do you still wish to download it.

I select yes, my only options are yes or no, and it imediately downloads it, never asking where to download it to.

Then it sits in the downloads file of the browser and I can not open it or figure out how to move it to a different place on the phone to open it from somewhere else.

I have only downloaded applications, not files, so I can't assist with any menu differences in downloads. I DO have an excel file that I use. I emailed it to myself, saved it to the storage card, and it opens just fine with quick office.

So I sugggest that rather than download those files, get them to your phone in another way, as I mentioned above. Good luck!

Attempting to access the ring tones from the site didn't work. However, after I downloaded them, and then accessed them via Astro they did.

i get alot of xls files from work, and quick office and dtg would open them for me either..i downloaded astro file manager(free btw) from the market, when i go to download i tell it save to sd card, and use astro to open....works like a charm for me

for the ringtone, i downloaded tone picker from the market, and it when i go to select a ringtone for one of my notifications it seems to find the dl ones all the time...drawback to this is if you use the music player(i dont so no biggie for me) it will play your notifications also
