Tried to transfer a bunch of pictures to my PC with a 6 foot cable. Connection failed. Once that happened I no longer could view the photos on the phone without disconnecting and reconnecting the phone. Switched to shorter OEM cable and no issues. I figured the cable was bad so bought a new 6' cable. Transfer failed after 2 photos transferred. Tried transferring 1 photo at a time and failed after 2.

Since this is a brand new cable is the length the problem? Seems like a pretty sturdy, braided cable. Note, older long cable also braided and OEM is not. I'm guessing the wire gauge in these cables is too thin?

No, just my desktop. Not really sure why that would matter. Clearly the build up in resistance in a longer cord is a factor.

I agree, although that article states that the length of your cable should be fine. I suggested trying different PCs just in case there was something weird happening with your PC's ports, but you're right, that's grasping for straws.:-\
