Files moved to SD card are playing Hooky

For the last week and a half or so, moving music files from my laptop to my SD card in my M8 has led to some real issues. Initially, the files transfer fine, and can be played in Poweramp, my music player of choice. However, after closing the app and reopening it, the new files are completely gone. Not just from the app, but from the SD card itself. I don't understand why this is happening. None of the other files that are already on my card are affected.

My workaround is putting these files on my internal storage for now, but I'd prefer not to do that for much longer. Any advice as to how to fix this issue, as well as any explanation for its happening?

I'm having issues with my sd card after updating! The card will not even let me format it. I try deleting all the files and then format or and all the files reappear. It's like whatever files are there stay and the files I try to put on there disappear or are corrupted. 64gb SDXC SanDisk class 10

I'm having frustrating problems with mine also, since the lollipop update, transfer speeds are very slow. Using a 128gb sandisk class 10. Sometimes taking 15-20 mins to transfer a 700 mb movie from internal storage to sd.
I've wiped phone and made a fresh install to no avail. Phone slows to an unusable state whilst transferring!

I gave up and sent my disk back to SanDisk. They are replacing it for free.

Yeh if it's a Sandisk then welcome to the party. At first I thought this was just some weird error or restriction after the Android lock-down for general copying files to SD, I got around this by copying media to it from my PC. But now I've noticed that it appears to let you delete/add files from my PC, but when I disconnect and re-mount it again, it's like no changes happen.

They seem to have a long-standing issue with SDXC cards becoming read-only after an amount of time. This explains why I couldn't install apps without first unmounting my SD card - they were trying to install to the SD card, then acted like they were corrupt.

Really annoying, at least Sandisk are replacing these, but unless the issue is fixed in later models, I guess it will just happen again :(

I can't post links, but check out Sandisk's own product forums for 'mobile memory professional cards' and there are lots of posts about not being able to write to or reformat SDXC cards.

I have Poweramp, on my Samsung Galaxy S5, with lollipop 5.01 OS. Poweramp, will play my Google Play Music, that's on my 64gb SD Card but it will not show Artist Name, Track Title or Album Art. Do you know how to correct this and if not can you point me to someone who can. I'm a Newbie to Android Central.
