Files received on my Android S7 via bluetooth not longer visible despite audible notification.

My Samsung Galaxy S7 was easily receiving files from my desktop via BLUETOOTH. Now when a file is being received, I just hear the sound notification but I can't accept it because it doesn't show up. What may be causing this issue, and how to get rid of it?
I unsuccessfully restarted the phone 5 times.
