Filming accessory question...

Looking for a cable/cord to connect my S9 Plus to an external monitor. The devices are mounted on a filming rig and are only about 12 inches apart. What I am looking for is a USB C to HDMI (full size) in a COILED cord. Naturally I tried Amazon and didn't see any.

I've contacted a couple "Custom" manufacturers, but they will only produce in bulk.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

I am told (so far) that I can use an external monitor. I am also expecting a direct answer back from the manufacturer as I would expect they are the most reliable source. You on the other hand, also seem to be quite savvy on this stuff too! I am guessing from your question that you have some doubts that this can work? Could you elaborate a little further? In your experience, is this not likely to work?

I am new at this so if I ask a "stupid" question, my apologies, I'll learn as time goes on!

My doubts come from the fact most Android phones don't support video out via cord and while I know the S9 does support video out for use of DeX I wasn't sure what happens without DeX.

Quick Google search implies the S9 will automatically mirror the screen if you connect an external display. So if all you want is to mirror your S9 screen to something larger it should be possible with a cord.

I think the only issue is finding the type of cord you want.

Not much time to look for an HDMI to USB C coiled cord but I'm not finding one.

Getting a USB C to HDMI dongle and a coiled HDMI cord might be the closest option available.

Hey, thanks again! The monitor I was intending to use was the Feelworld LUT7.
So you are suggesting that I could mirror only on this monitor and would not have any other features of the monitor? The connection will be through a USB C to HDMI cord. Don't know if I will find a coiled one though..

What I know is that by default the S9 will mirror the screen to an external monitor, beyond that I honestly don't know what it can do with the external monitor. This is outside my expertise as the last time I connected a phone via HDMI I had the S3. I only use smart view to wirelessly cast/mirror my screen. Which I have actually used my Note 9 for filming while casting to a TV I had set up behind it so I could see things.

If I dig up anymore information I'll share it but unfortunately I don't know if I'll be of anymore help on this one.

I think you are correct. Because the phone does not have an HDMI output, (most cell phones don't I think) the best I will get is simple mirroring from the phone to the monitor.
Honestly, that's about 90% of what I was looking for anyway. I just wanted a much larger and brighter screen to see what I am filming. The LUT7 monitor has a nice 7 inch display with 2200 nit brightness!!

A coiled HDMI male to male cable is easy - try this Amazon link. For Type C to HDMI, try this one. The whole thing is just over $15 (plus shipping).
