Hello people. On my fifth pixel 2xl I finally have one with no quality issues! I've always loved this phone but seemed to keep getting duds from Google.
Phone 1- fingerprint sensor stopped working intermittently.
Phone 2- Bluetooth issues and another bad fingerprint sensor.
Phone 3- Headphone dongle stopped working from time to time.
Phone 4- Fingerprint sensor stopped working.
Even though I loved the camera and the screen (yes, on everyone I've had I've loved the screen) I gave up. I went to the V30. With the Google camera port the camera is actually usable. Combined with Nova and the high contrast theme, this was a really solid device. However, it's not as fluid as the Pixel 2XL and the T Mo version is WAY behind on security updates. So I decided to try the Pixel 2xl again.
I had purchased the first four from Google so I decided to switch tactics. For lucky 5 I paid full price at Best Buy. Turns out the only thing Verizon is the SIM. It's the exact same phone, I was able to buy it and use it on TMo with no problems. I don't think this is why I got a good one, I think I just got lucky.
Anyhow, I got one of the no blue shift displays, fingerprint sensor is great, Bluetooth has been reliable, and I've had no issues with the dongle. I'm a happy camper and am looking forward to using this baby for a good while!
Thanks for indulging me, I feel like you're this is the only place I can express my phone obsession without people thinking I'm bonkers.
PS I'm surprised that I haven't heard more about fingerprint sensor issues. 3 out of 5 can't be that random.
