Finally a phone worth keeping....

It has taken many years and many returned flagship devices with subsequent 35 dollar restocking fees in order to finally find a device that I can see myself keeping for the long haul. By that I mean, probably no more than 2 years but in today's world of smartphone offerings, that is a lifetime. I absolutely love this G4. It is in my hand literally 75 percent of my waking hours. LG has nailed it. This is the most perfectly balanced phone I have ever used. The user experience is impeccable and consistent. Not only is the user experience purely enjoyable from a software standpoint but it also feels great in the hand to hold from an aesthetic standpoint. It is the perfect balance between build quality and functionality. With the expandable storage, replaceable battery, the luxury of swapping out the rear panel at will and consistent software updates, this phone is also very future proof. It is an investment as opposed to an annual expense. I've never been happier with a device. I would love to hear what others think about the G4.

I believe there are a few here that will agree and of course some that won't.

My experience has been fantastic on the most part but battery life should be better. My S6E trumps it but on the flip side the G4's is replaceable. For longevity well its very clear which one trumps the other.

Glad like myself your enjoying your G4 experience and once root and ROMs flow then that is when it will step up from great to fantastic. I'm sure Kernel devs will get that bit more from the battery.

The above aside even without root the G4 is one very fine device and I'm having a good time using it.

From an Android point of view, I'd agree with you. It's a great phone. As great as the G3 was last year.

Glad that you satisfied. That is ultimately what is most important

I'm with you man. If the experience stays as good & stable as it is now, my flagship hopping habit will be put to rest for awhile.
Makes me a bit nervous that so many on Verizon are reporting heat & battery issues, but my particular device isn't showing any signs of those problems (he says as he knocks on wood).

I was also thinking that I finally found a phone that I would keep for a while. I think I need to start treating phones the same way I do other expensive electronic equipment like a computer, flat screen tv, and dslr cameras and only upgrade when something breaks.

Glad you found a keeper! I'm doing the same. LG has come a long way and it's been awesome flagship after awesome flagship.

I know that YMMV as battery life depending on personal usage patterns. But. I had the S6 and it was erratic and for the most part the electric juice was sipped real fast. I did many tweak and what not to the S6 and never managed to make it from 7am to 5pm still charged. I always had to charge up by 2 or 3 pm or face a dead phone. Leaving my phone alone would still suck up the juice. I gave up. I travel a lot and need a phone I can rely on battery wise. G4 is far more reliable. I can leave the phone for a while unplugged and battery will retain it's charge without a problem. It's a keeper.

It bums me out to read all of these "I love this perfect phone soooo much" posts because I'm not having the same experience, and I want to really badly. I'm an at&t user and my G4 performs about as good as my 2013 Moto X, which I bought on launch day. My phone suffers from almost all of the known maladies, lag, glacially slow WiFi, overheating and missed touches. It's so frustrating because I watched and waited for this phone for months. I'm sticking it out until fall at least because the only other phone I'm really interested in this year is the new Moto X, and if they finally get the camera right and LG hasn't addressed these issues, my G4 is going in the ocean.

If you've already factory resetted with no resolve, I'd return it if possible.

I agree 100%, best overall phone I have ever used!

Glad you're happy with your G4. I'm stalking the G4 right now, and will probably pick one in the next month or so. What carrier are you on? Seems like Verizon gets a lot of the complaints, and of course, that's what I'm currently on (though I'm out of contract right now)

I have had this phone for a week, upgrading from a Galaxy S2 (I keep my phones for awhile). This phone is beautiful, fits in my suit pocket even with the 5.5 inch screen and lasts all day for my usage. My S2 would be dead in just half a day, even with new batteries. I have Sprint, if that makes a difference. I also really like the leather back, and slight curve to the phone. It really has been a winner for me, having had it for two weeks.
