Today is a sad day. The last day if my 2 week Italy trip and I cracked my screen. Luckily that's all that happened because I was on a boat from venice and it nearly went over the edge.

I cracked mine recently when I dropped it on a concrete floor at a concert. Had it replaced at ubreakifix. Cost $300! I guess this is a good reason to consider the non edge s6. I expect replacing the screen on that would have been closer to $100

I've been fortunate to have never broken a screen. Very careful with my devices. 300 seems expensive. I remember a quote of around 150 to 200 somewhere. I'll have to find it. May have been local.

I was getting ready to move to another country and the last thing I did at the airport was drop my stupid phone onto the pavement right after I took the bumper off. Shattered the screen but was good timing since the phone wouldn't have worked in another country anyway...but still, stupid gravity.

the price might be that high now because its a newer device. From my experience, after a phone's been out for a while, the cost of fixing the screen goes down.

You guys don't have insurance? This is a $700 device.

I do because I'm still on the original JUMP plan with t-mobile. First phone I've broke/lost in years.

Good. Sometimes I feel it's a ripoff, but I always get it on brand new expensive devices. When they get really old I drop the insurance. They're cheaper to fix and replace at that point.

Weren't people getting the screen fixed for $200 through Samsung? $300 is a little steep, guess that's the downside of having the latest screen technology

This is what I was thinking too.

I kept dropping my phone almost every week and the screen has survived every time. Until a rainy day, I fell down and my phone was in my front pocket. Finally cracked my screen. No display problem but the touchscreen didn't work anymore. It took me a week to get the screen changed. Lucky that I've installed Airdroid and I use it to send SMS and call the service center.

Cases aren't 100 percent.

Very true but I still prefer that over insurance. I don't like paying for insurance on a phone monthly and then pay $200+ to get another replacement which is most likely a refurb. I personally would rather just buy another phone.

To each there own. These things are $700.

That they are -- I just personally have never had a point where I needed insurance and such. I know some like that comfort -- Such as my gf pays for insurance -- I just personally do not need it :).

I got a tempered film for my S6E for a few days.I will test it for a little longer. If it works well with me. I will post some pics for your reference.
