Just got my update yesterday for my S9+ but it was over 700 MB and my wife got her update for her S9 and it was 343...does anyone know why there is a big difference?

Because you probably got 2 updates in one and she had already received last months update.

after installing the update, my phone no longer goes to lock screen, but goes straight to the home screen.
