Finally got rid of my BlackBerry and got myself a new Nexus 6 - man what a miss!!!

WayneDPD what is your point? No one here cares why you like Blackberry better. Blackberry is a dinosaur to most people. You can use your own server if you wish with Exchange but a better solution is a Good Server that support iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, Windows Pro with a Good service https://www1.good.com/about/why-good.html

Look at the Good Connect product.. https://www1.good.com/applications/collaboration-suite/good-connect/

Or you can do this... Manually configure Android devices for email hosted on Exchange. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/outlook/to-go

You could get Windows Outlook on the Nexus 6 with Office 365 for a cloud solution that would be cheaper than the license for a Windows server. We aren't insulted you are looking for a smartphone solution, we just aren't interested in blackberry. You are luck when I sold Office 365 Blackberry forced every user with a Blackberry to pay an extra $10 a month when Android and iOS had no monthly fee. Now that Blackberry has few customers they now dropped that charge for email.

Why Office 365 beats hosted Exchange for small business email
http://betanews.com/2013/03/15/why-office-365-beats-hosted-exchange-for-small-business-email/

I could care less about Blackberry and don't know how much longer they will still be in business.

I wish blackberry would just go out of business already.

Why? That's a horrible thing to want. What if someone wished that for the company you work for. The company that pays you and allows you to support your family.

BlackBerry is still around because they fill the need of some people and enterprises. It's not for everyone, just like iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

The issue is not Android but rather the lack of functionality of gmail app. Unfortunately I unlike you do not use gmail. I can afford my own server and wish to use that. Blackberry did not have issues with this so don;t knock what you have not tried. As a troll I believe that if I get something new it should be more functional and not more ancient. The Nexus 6 I purchased is my phone and I believe that gives the right to choose what software I use on it, if I wanted an Apple environment I would bought an iPhone. That's the beauty of open source systems, they support other people software and not just what the manufacturer wants you to use. If something as ancient as Blackberry allows this, what up with Google? Reinventing the wheel? Don't be insulted because I am looking for a smartphone that understands business.

Google allows you to download third party email other than gmail. Find one that works.

I tried two (bluemail was one but I have forgotten the other) but the control is managed by the "accounts" so no matter which one I use the "never" delete from server (pop3) does not seem to be properly implemented. I also tried to disable gmail as when I used 3rd party app gmail keeps downloading my mail so I get two copies on my phone. Disabling Gmail deleted all my contacts and calendar events. The other big issue I am having is when in my car although I got all my contacts in Google Calendar only my Skype contacts are available on my bluetooth device in car for calling contacts yet my missed, dialed and incoming calls are available....just does not add up for "use google tools to get the google phone to work well.". Any ideas on what needs to be configured or what could have been configured incorrectly.

There is help available from both Google and Moto. Not sure about Google helping if you didn't buy from them, but Moto help should be regardless of where you got the device. They helped me on my Droid series phones that I got via VZW.

WayneDPD if you have a Microsoft Exchange server with a legal license then you have their support team for help desk support. You are taking a shot at the Nexus 6 and all Android devices, when the REAL fact is you don't have the knowledge on how to install anything other than a Blackberry device.

Over 65% of all corporate email is on Microsoft Exchange regardless of what OS is on their phone. So that proves it's not a Android or a Nexus 6 issue. I really feel sorry for people that love Blackberry since they know it's almost dead technology and will be sold to either Apple or Samsung soon.

I own my own business that I have built over the last 10 years with my own blood, sweat and tears.

I'll make sure i make the right decisions in order to not go out of business. Something blackberry should have been doing over the last several years.

I suggest you return your phone and get a Blackberry. That way we all will be happy.

As someone who switched from a blackberry Q10 to the nexus 6, there are some things I miss from my bbry, and there are a lot of things that make me happy about my N6. I hate when people bash another OS simply because it is"cool" to do. Blackberries have their uses, and they are doing what they need to do to survive as a company. Should another full touch blackberry come about on sprint, I would try it out to see how it worked for me.

I hope blackberry remains in the game simply because more choices are good for consumers and businesses.

I fully agree, Blackberry will survive and I have tried many of them and when they get another full touch device I will give it a shot. I love my Nexus 6 and my IPhone 6+ too

After Android and iOS the remaining market share is too tiny for both Windows OS and Blackberry to survive long term. Few App makers care about either Microsoft or Blackberry since their OS has little Global Market share. Microsoft has deep pockets and Blackberry is underwater debt wise. At some point BBRY share holders will see that their Patents are worth more than the business and I expect Microsoft to buy Blackberry.

"BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY) was the only operating system vendor that sold fewer units in 2014 than it did in 2013. For all of 2014 the company shipped just 5.8 million smartphones, good for 0.4 percent market share, down from 19.2 million shipments and 1.9 percent share in 2013.

" 2014 marked a year of rationalization for the beleaguered platform, and by the end of the year the company had revealed multiple enhancements to its platform and new device additions with the BlackBerry Passport and BlackBerry Classic," IDC noted. "CEO John Chen anticipates 10 million units will be shipped in 2015, returning the company to profitability and marking a 72% increase over the 5.8 million units shipped in 2014."

That's great (not being sarcastic). I own my own business too, 8 years and 3 months now. That being said, I wouldn't want anyone wishing my (or your) business to fail and calling it quits. Bottom line is they're still floating and still making great phones some people and enterprises need and use. That's a topic for another day though. I do know that the BB founders built RIM with their blood ,sweat and tears too. They just made poor choices and didn't stay current when they needed too. We do have them to thank however for what the smart phone is today. That's a fact.

Congrats on the 10 years. It's tough going out on your own as I'm sure you know.

I don't think BB is underwater with debt. I think they have around 2 or 3 billion above water. At least the last time I saw it reported they did. I really like my Nexus 6 but I want more competition all around and BB 10 is a good OS.

I agree. Competition is good for us, bringing us great phones. Look at the changes Samsung made to the S6.

And the Passport is an awesome phone.
