Finally Rooted!!!

Well I finally rooted my D2G, only because I wanted to use the SetCpu app so I can increase my battery life a little more. I have a extended battery already which is pretty decent but i wanted to test it out.

I underclocked my CPU to 800Mhz from the stock 1.2Ghz and my phone is still pretty zippy running on LauncherPro Plus. I'm going to see what kind of gains I get tomorrow and see if it was worth it!

Has anyone else done this for more battery life?

I underclock occasionally and it definitely has its pros. But i'm a bigger fan of undervolting.

What is undervolting?

Undervolting is turning down the amount of energy that gets sent to the CPU. I have my D2 unvolted at 1Ghz and it runs great with good battery. Although some of the popular apps to undervolt with don't have a lot of D2G support yet.
