Hi ! It's been almost 4 years I used Lumia as my daily driver. I knew someday I'd have to switch to Android(or iOS) because of some official apps and feature support.

I bought a Nokia Android mobile a week~ ago just because of their build quality and of course pure(stock) Android OS which I really like the most. I'm using it as my daily driver and it's amazingly smoother than Windows 10 mobileOS (no offence).

That doesn't mean that I hate Win10m, I still use it for listening music via Groove which is simply amazing and perfect stock app and one of the best app I still miss is myTube(youtube 3rd party app) which offers ad-less video experience unlike the official YouTube app.

I always prioritise the stock apps first where Win10m and Android ties. Except all of these, I'll going to miss the official 'Tiles' features which made the Lumia different from others.

For mail, I use GMail app for google accounts and Outlook for hotmail to balance the usability.

I started using it(Lumia) from stock W8.1M which is still faster than any mobileOS I ever used/experienced.

On the second day of using Nokia, I read the official news about Microsoft where they suggested Lumia/w10m users to use Android/iOS devices. That proves that maybe MS is preparing for other mobile OS or took a long long break and abandoned it completely.

Anyways, I'm an Android user now and feeling good to use latest Android P.

🙂

Welcome to Android Central! I hope you don't mind, but I moved this from the General News forum to the Introductions forum, because this is one of the nicer intros I've seen in a while!:)

Which is strange, because that's a violation of YT's TOS - and Google, not MS, owns YT.

There's a Windows launcher in Play that looks like Win10, tiles and all.

They have. Whether they abandon Nokia, or sell it, or keep it, is another question.

I used a Windows-style launcher years ago. I took a long time setting it up just the way I wanted, then found alas that it stopped the lock screen working...you could just go straight into the phone. Regrettably, it had to go.
Of course the one you're thinking about may be different, or fixed.

No idea - I use Windows 10 (and Linux) on my desktop, but never had any interest in tiles on my phone.

Welcome to the other side.. We were big supporters in the beginning!
Android has definitely matured over the years and is a great choice for ex-Windows phone users ;)

Welcome to the world of Android and to Android Central! So glad you are liking the smoothness of your Nokia phone! That was a really good choice, especially for an introduction to Android software.

Enjoy yourself around the forums!

Hello! I'm a very recent convert too.

I'm using Launcher 10 for my start screen, very pleased with how it looks and feels so far. Widgets work well for live tiles and there is a Glance app, called Glance Plus. Bing have a lovely gallery widget that runs a slideshow of their daily images.
