I don't like the sms layout at all, I'll just continue only using Hangouts for video calling. I prefer it to Skype in that regard

Just got the update on all devices, yay! Works good, but they really need to work on merging everything seamlessly. Honestly it's kind of a hot mess with SMS and hangouts threads all scattered about. I'm sure it'll get better in future updates.

I think so. If you carrier doesn't have MMS group messaging on your device then this fixes it.
