Finding Nexus 7 serial number

There should be a sticker on the bottom of the device. The serial number is the 10-digit number directly below the bar code. The serial number listed in the device status info is totally different. I've tried both and neither seems to work when I try to register the device on Asus' site.

PROBLEM SOLVED: Got an immediate solution from Asus. It's the 10-digit number on the back of the device, not the listed in the device status. The third number was an O, not the 0 (zero) I typed in. So make sure to type in the correct number or letter.

if it worked you could find it at: Settings / About Tablet / Status

That doesn't help though.

Actually, the SN listed in Status is totally different from the one on the box and the sticker on the back of the device. It will not work.

I tried register my product on asus.com with the S/N from the back of the device: C90KB...... That didnt work. Not recognized as a valid S/N. I then checked S/N under Settings: 015d2578... that worked fine?!
Oki, so I sent a question that I have about my device to tech support. The reply was that this isnt a valid S/N ... ?? Oki, so one S/N is recognized by the registration form on asus.com, but the other one is recognized by the support... Confusing having two different S/N. Also, why havnt they made asus.com registration page Android friendly? Its not possible to register the device from the Nexus 7, only from a computer. (also tried from my iPad, didnt work).
I managed to click Next so the purchase date is now incorrect and I can change it, I dont find my registered devices. It all feels a bit amateur when it comes to Asus.

I had the same problem. I think your SN is actually C9O, not C9zero. Make sure the numbers, expecially the zeroes are not O's.

Anyway to retrieve the Serial Number by opening the Tablet. I was able to successfully remove the back cover off it, now which number/barcode seems to be the serial number?

I have NO STICKER on the bottom of my device. I have stickers INSIDE of the device, but all of them contain strings of letters/numbers either longer than or shorter than 10 digits. So, how 'bout now???

If you still have the original box, there's a sticker on the box that has the serial number. It's called SSN.

I have the Nexus 7 2nd generation. I purchased outside warranty through SquareTrade and the serial number is requested in registration. If I go to Settings: About Tablet: Status, there is nothing that gives me the serial number. I only see battery status, battery level, IP address, Wi-Fi MAC address and bluetooth address. Any other ideas on how to find out the SN without the box? I purchased this tablet through Ebay so I can't contact Google Play or Nexus. Thanks.:-\

I couldn't find the serial number on my nexus 7 in settings->about tablet->status because the window is so small that the serial number doesn't show up when you get there. Since no scroll bar appeared, it didn't occur to me to try to scroll the display. By accident, I swiped the screen upwards and voila more settings info appeared including the serial number.

I have removed the back of my 2013 Nexus 7 (2nd gen). There are various labels with numbers but none of these labels have anything that indicates the number is a serial number? I have the box it came in (bought on Amazon) but the box has no label either (other than the product bar-code). A small label with a block barcode has four lines of numbers that includes a 15-digit string starting "QYF2..." and the line below has an 11-digit number starting "3CYF..." followed by a separate 5-digit string "3CDF8". Might one of them be the serial number?? "Look inside" is not specific enough. Unfortunately the screen is cracked so I'm unable to get the device up.
