finger sensor a hit or miss with UI 3 update

Anyone notice that the finger sensor working is inconsistent? I find I have to open my screen to get better consistency in it working. Then I find I have to open my password manager first a lot of times, to use the sensor to get into an app account. It may work or it may not, and many times I end up manually typing my PIN. Seems like the update screwed this up too. Unless there is a fix or something I have not done?

You delete the current ones and register new ones.
