Fingerprint Log in to Websites - Cannot Activate Function

How would one activate this functionality?

I did say yes to that question on the fingerprint page, but every time I log onto a site, I still have to type in my password. The functionality doesn't seem to kick in.

I could be wrong, but I thought that was an Android feature for when we got the Marshmallow update. That added native fingerprint scanning/support.

i went to click the following to get to the location where i ought to be for fingerprint website log in:

Gear/lock screen and security/fingerprints/Web Sign-In


it's clear that i clicked the switch to "on" where it says:


"Web sign-in: Use your fingerprint to sign into websites"

however, whenever i log onto a new website, it wouldn't ask me or give me an option to use "fingerprint log in".
