Fingerprint reader stops working

Has anyone else experienced this? The fingerprint reader will just stop working until I restart it. This is the first and only problem I've had so far with the s8+.

I had an issue earlier in the mall but I think it was just dirty. I cleaned it and it worked fine without reboot

Yea I cleaned mine after it happened the first time and didn't work.

Three times. I cleaned it well and nothing. Mine is going back. Also have a red hue around the edges.

I think this fingerprint issue is a software issue. Not hardware. I can live without the fingerprint scanner but I thought it was odd.

I use facial recognition to unlock my phone and iris for passwords and everything else.
