Fingerprint scanner issues

I can't seem to unlock my phone on a consistent basis with fingerprint scanner like I could on my nexus 6p.
Sometimes it works instantly like it should and other times I lock myself out completely.

I've tried deleting, rebooting and re-entering my prints and even adding the same finger twice but it's still crap.

Anyone else have this issue or is it just me? I'm on b29 BTW.

No problem here. Works like a charm every time. Maybe go to the ZTE USA web site and ask for possible help.

Take it back because mine works flawless as well. it's most likely defected. It works 10 out of 10 times.

Mine works perfectly. It's more accurate than the one that was on my Note 7.

Mine does it VERY rarely. I will get "partial fingerprint read" type error. Usually, I just wipe my hand and then it's fine. Mine seems to work 99.5% of the time and it's ok for me. It's the only issue I've found with mine.
