Fingerprint scanner scratches easily

Has no one come out with a mini-protector for this yet? Maybe you could cut one to size from tape so long as it doesn't affect the scanner.

So I just looked at my fps, still unscratched.. and I guess it is either glass or plastic, not a paint like I thought it might have beeen. All I can ask is wtf are you doing and stop grinding the back of the phone against a sander.

The Gorrila Glass 5 is more shatter resistant, but more susceptible to scratches. Just ask any of us former Note 7 owners.

Unless they come out with some revolutionary formulation that's how glass will be. Making it more scratch resistant means making the material harder, but in general this makes it easier to break. Making it more shatter resistant generally means making it "softer" but then it's a little easier to scratch.

I agree sapphire is very scratch resistant. But drop it on the ground and it'll break even easier than regular glass displays. I'd love to see that phone drop tested...

Sapphire is costlier than regular glass so the price of phones would skyrocket, as if they weren't too expensive already.

Yes, the fingerprint scanner scratches very easy. I'm super OCD and when looking at it under bright light I can see scratches.

I baby my phones and this does not make me happy at all.

Ugh. I'm super OCD about my stuff and this doesn't make me happy. I have been looking at ordering one to replace my 6s Plus. I've been itching to get back to Android but this gives me some cold feet.

No scratches on my fps and I use it often. Have two scratches on my display already though. Trying to figure that one out since I place the phone backside down 90% of the time and use the fps without a care in the world. I baby the screen so I'm confused lol
