When I bought my s5 they put a glass protector on it and told me to put the "home" button sticky on it so i did.......figured out i couldnt use the fingerprint scanner bc of it and kinda left it alone since ive heard it was hit or miss.

Wrong. I recently ripped that button off and am now, without even thinking of it, using my thumb to unlock the phone. its actually badass compared to other tech out there. a swipe is better then an apple touch.

I know the phone shows a model of a finger( pointer i guess) but i used my thumb( as if im holding my phone like i always do) to simply swipe down of the home button. its always worked on the first try. love it!!!!!

I'd say mine is about 50% - 50% on the first or second try. Rarely, if ever, do I have to go for a third. It helps that I have all three fingerprint memories programmed to my right hand thumb. When I programmed them I swiped my thumb is a very slightly different angle to increase accuracy.

At first I thought it wasn't that good but I think it just took me a while to get used to it. Now it works really.

I think its rubbish.

Touch is much better.

I think swipe would work a lot better if the whole button was a touch pad, but it's just the middle 1/3.

Hate the swipe, love the idea. I have my phone on the air vent holder while driving and find it a PIA to unlock the phone. Touch unlock you just hold your finger there and bam, it unlocks.

When I switched from thumb to different angles of my forefinger, it went from 30% to 98%.
