These leaks are generally pretty accurate so it looks like the fps will again be on the back and to the side.

I'll be honest I'm baffled, the explanation for the S8/S8+ was it was last minute, I got that but there really should not be any more excuse for repeating the mistake.

The FPS on the S8 is the main reason I will likely ditch the phone, I may 'get used to it' but not really enough. IMO as a lefty other than above the camera they could not have put it in a worse place.

I don't mind the FPS on the back, but not in the same fashion as the S8. They could have put it in the center below the cameras.

I just purchased a Galaxy Note FE off eBay but will likely return because of no Samsung Pay operation. Guess I'll keep my SO for the long haul.

I thought the Note FE wasn't approved for use in the US by the FCC yet?

No news to date to show it has gone through FCC... so that’s why you won’t be able to get one through a US carrier. Doesn’t seem to be anything to prohibit people/companies from buying any phone sold in other countries, import it in, and use it here if it supports the carriers frequencies.

one company selling them on amazon is around $800 so no thanks.

Shoot. No. I'd rather spend $800 on the note 8. Not some refurbished note7 that caused alot of headaches.

I thought the left handed people had better access to the FPS location, it's right above your index finger. The right handed people are the ones that have to stretch across phone to reach it. I don't know I'm right handed and it just seems normal to me now. There was a learning curve of course since I was used to it on the front. I'm not going to argue location as center below camera or where it's at is fine with me. If putting it on the center below camera makes everyone happy, I'm for it. I just want it on the back, that is such a better location then the front. I always thought LG was crazy for putting it on the back, now I see they were right. That embedded under screen does not excite me, to me it looks like it would create extra steps to use it and probably will be buggy.

Bixby has erased any need for me to use anything other than my own voice to unlock my phone with a password only it and I know.

so what is the accuracy and failure rate? How well does it work in a noisy room? What if you are at work or in a quiet place?

Accuracy has been about 90 percent so far. I use trusted places at home , works fine even at a noisy baseball game and I only use my personal phone on my lunch. I use an Honor 8 at work. 😊

I think that the index finger falls more naturally on the sensor when using the right hand. With my left hand I have to constantly shift it. So for me at least using my right hand is pick up phone, minor adjustsment, press sensor. Whereas left handed it is pick up phone, move finger, find sensor. Does not sound a lot but for me it is a not intuitive, I have improved but if the G6 had the SD 835 or my OP5 had an SD slot I'd no longer have my S8.

It is way better on the S8 vs the S8+ so I'd expect the N8 to be even worse.

YMMV

I agree. The fingerprint sensor in the S8 is in a terrible place. I was hoping Samsung would switch it in the Note 8, but it doesn't appear that they will.

With that being said, I may just skip the Note line this year because of the FPS location and the smaller battery (than the S8+).

I don't even use the FPS I have now, so that doesn't really bother me I guess. I get how it could seem frustrating though.
