So anybody else having this issue? My fingerprint sensor will stop working. Sometimes for hours.
I can also reboot and it usually works. Oh and this is not just for unlocking the phone. Ive had it not work for payment and for apps that have login enabled via fingerprint sensor.
Ive also noticed a few times the sensor wont do anything to unlock phone, but then i can use it to unlock an app.
Unfortunately what was an isolated issue is happening more and more often.

Anybody else having an issue with theirs?

I have the same issue. I usually just clean my fingerprint sensor when that happens, and it fixes it for me, and it will work well for a while. It's really annoying though, as I've never had this issue with my (midrange) Huawei devices, so I'm a bit disappointed that this is an issue on an LG flagship.

Cleaning mine does not seem to help or fix anything. I work in an office on a computer all day so its not like im out digging ditches and mucking up the sensor. Power cycling the device will usually get it to work again. I am not happy with the increasing amount of time is continuing to fail. I really hope its a software glitch and the next update (dont get me started on how slow their updates are) will fix it.
I really want an LG 60 but with slow software updates and now this finger print sensor issue im loosing trust in LG. But i guess all manufacturers have issues.
I jumped the Samsung ship after a major software update made my perfectly good working S7 edge into a slow battery hog. Phone was amazing, big update came and sucked the life out of it. Wiped, set it up as new but didnt help.
I miss HTC devices.

Saw this issue once on my V40 about last summer after weeks of uptime, restarted and hadn't had it happen for the remainder of time I owned the phone. Defective units exist no matter who's name is on the device. In fact, I've actually had more hardware issues with HTC or Nokia devices than with any of the V series devices.

You have a very good point. Hardware failures can exist with any manufacturer.
I do reboot my phone weekly. However ive been rebooting it more often as the finger pint sensor is failing more often.
But before i blame it on hardware i wanted to see if others were having a similar issue. I want to believe its software related.

So, it's been a few months since the last post, and my fingerprint sensor is NOT working more often than it is now, and cleaning/rebooting it doesn't help either. I've had to start pressing down on the back of the phone, just underneath the third camera, to get it working, and even that only works once or twice if I'm lucky. I'm getting really tired of having to keep doing that, just for the sensor to work temporarily. I'll probably have to send mine in for a warranty repair soon.

Just a quick update. My fingerprint sensor stopped working completely the day after my previous post, so I took my phone in for repairs, under warranty, and I got a replacement yesterday. Everything besides my screen was replaced, so I pretty much have a brand new phone.

I had issues with my battery life as well, so I'll be keeping an eye on this one. I spent most of the night doing updates from Oreo, so I'm patiently waiting for Android 10 to be released. ??????
