I updated my note 10 plus the other day and noticed the big change on how well the fingerprint sensor works now why didn't they do this from day one?

I have had great success with the sensor since day 1 with my 10 but many haven't.

Initial testing will have been on a minimal user base , as wide as they can afford and generally not in real life environments.
Based on feedback on failed detection they will have been widening the testing base and adding corrections along the way.

You can't test a fingerprint sensor fot near 7 billion people in the lab, you can only get it close.
There is no way they could have made it right for everyone on day one.
The fact that continuous improvement based on feedback is beeing applied it a huge step forward from 5 years ago.

I have thumb scanned at up, diagonal right and horisontal right and forefinger scanned at up and diagonal.

It is by far the easiest credential method I have used as any but the thinnest case prevented easy, or reliable, access to the 8 finger sensor on the back. Even without a case I prefer the ease of the on screen.

I am a big fan and agree that the latest update has taken my success rate from ~93% to ~97%
