Anybody facing issues with the fingerprint sensor. Samsung questions it on the kind of screen protector being used. But I have been using their original protector that came attached with the phone from day one..

Every 1-2 weeks my fingerprints doesn't match and I have to reset them. How is ur Note 10 plus FP behaving?

If you have to redo your prints every 14 days, it sounds like a case of dry fingertips, as the cracks don't follow any set rule or pattern, so it's as if your actual fingerprints have changed after a certain amount of time.

As non-technical as it sounds, moisturize your fingertips for a few days straight then redo your prints once again. Thereafter, keep your fingertips moisturized daily and you should see much better consistency with the FPS.

Definitely could be dry fingertips as waqqas31 stated and licking your finger or applying moisture should resolve.

For medical ultrasound procedures, they always apply a gel to assure adequate moisture and conductance.

The in screen fingerprint reader is the number one issue I have with the Note 10 Plus. I’m not even sure there is a number 2. Lol. It’s such a great device. That fingerprint reader is a pain though. I’m sure it’s my thumbs being too dry or too wet or whatever but it doesn’t make it any less of an issue. I use facial recognition as well to work around it but that doesn’t help with Samsung pay or apps that require more security.

I really wish they would either step up the facial recognition or put the reader on the back again. I never had issues with the Note 9 or prior.

My fingerprint recognition was OK but kind of slow. A few months ago I got something on the factory screen protector and got tired of that grimy feeling it gets and took it off, and the fingerprint sensor got much better.

Totally different kind of sensor. And the one on the back is also sensitive to weather. When it's cold, so your fingers dry out, your skin wrinkles a bit, and the fingerprint sensor can fail. (Or should I say that your finger can fail? The sensor would work fine if your finger was normal.)

I haven't had any issues like this with the fps or the factory installed protector. The only times I have problems with it working is if my finger is super wet or slippery b

Try the method in the video. Since both right and left hand on stored on same print, you can do one with dry skin, "normal" skin and well moisturized skin and still have one left over.

I apologize if I'm missing your point here. I do understand that these are totally different sensors. I guess that was my point actually. Under the same conditions, using my same fingers, the sensor used on the back of the phone worked better and more consistently than the one used under the screen.

Doesn't really matter. Samsung has moved on so I'm sure it will all get better with time. None of it is a deal breaker since Samsung offers multiple ways to secure the phone.

My experience has been average, or slightly worse, fingerprint recognition with this phone. I have a Whitestone Dome screen protector and registered the same fingerprint in two slots and still have average performance.

Maybe a dumb question, but did you remove the factory screen protector? I would imagine fingerprint recognition would be awful with that plus the Dome... as I said above, just removing the factory screen protector seemed to cut fingerprint recognition time in half, and made it more forgiving on angles.

That's not a dumb question at all. I remember a thread about someone buying the Note 10+, and a screen protector through their carrier. The store rep installed the additional screen protector over the pre-installed one.

I found the scanner to be totally reliable once I removed the OEM protector. I have insurance and I'm just going to be careful.

Anecdotally, I found using the same using the same fingerprint in more than one slot did more harm than good. That was on a Sony Z5C though and since the fingerprint scanner was embedded in the power button on the right side, I only used my right thumb or my right index finger, so it made sense. But the scanner was largely unreliable until I removed the duplicates. I have a feeling it was confusing the phone. But again, this was on a different phone and I didn't perform a barrage of tests to confirm it.

My fingers are naturally dry, so it was difficult for the sensor to pick up. I've learned that if my finger are a bit moist it pickup almost immediately. Other than that, it is great.

That is what i used to do to get the fingerprint sensor to work. Finally took the OEM screen protector off yesterday and wish i had done this from the beginning. I got my note 10+ at preorder and always struggled with the fingerprint scanner. Now that the screen protector is off it is working perfectly.. It's like having a new phone.

I deleted my previous finger and apply the whitestone dome screen protector and register. It is working great and no issue.
