Fingerprint unlock after encryption

On previous phones I've owned, some unlocking options (pattern, for example) were no longer available options after encrypting the data. First device I've owned with fingerprint unlock; can anyone tell me whether or not encryption will disable the option?

It's only disabled when you power cycle the phone. After that initial unlock after the power cycle the fingerprint reader will work.
