Fingerprint unlock question

I enabled the fingerprint feature to unlock my phone. I realize that I'll still be asked for my PIN on power-up or if it's been 72 hours since unlock. However, it seems that I'm asked for my pin much more often, like after the "device admin locked device," or after the phone's been in my pocket for a while. Is this normal? Thanks.

i have finger unlock set up on my moto z force and dont see that happening , what phone do you have?

There seem to be situations where mine will ask me for my pattern login "to enable fingerprint login". I'm assuming there's something about the situation (connected network or something) that is triggering a higher security level and thus asking for the pattern/PIN.

Thanks. I have a Verizon Moto Z Force. The issue arises after I lock the phone with an app named Lock Screen Widget, by LoveKara. It locks the screen administratively.

I have found that if I touch the lock screen on anything other then a notification, it will pull up the # lock screen. I still just use the finger button and it opens fine.

I've also noticed I can use any finger to lock the phone. I think the reader just needs to be touched to lock it.
