I had a LG V10, with Nova Prime I could unlock the phone with the fingerprint scanner. Upgraded to the V20 and added the LG lock screen, with fingerprint (also requires knock on code or Pin) every time I try to unlock the phone it says fingerprint disabled, use Pin code. Not sure if this is a Nova issue or an LG issue, looking for ideas.

I don't have any ideas, just wanted to say that I use Nova Prime and my fingerprint scanner works flawlessly. Did you removed the tiny piece of plastic over the finger print scanner/power button?

I usually use Nova but this time around decided to try Action Launcher 3 with the Pixel setup. Anyway I'm sometimes having the same problem as I you, but only after I changed the setting in AL3 to allow me to double tap the home screen to lock the phone.

The stock LG launcher allows this, but if you use a different launcher like Nova or AL3 then they require you to set them as an administrator. Every time I double tap to lock my V20 says I can't unlock with the fingerprint scanner because it was locked previously by the "administrator".

tl;dr it's caused by the launcher having administrator rights. Beats me why though. Lol.

I use Nova Prime and don't have this issue. Maybe try disabling Nova and see if it restores it. Nova only requires you to enable Administrator if you plan on controlling the screen ie. Double Tap to turn screen off. If you don't use any Nova gestures to control the screen then you can keep Administrator turned off.

Using Nova prime since initial setup and haven't had any problems with the fingerprint scanner.

I'm using Prime and don't have any problems with the fingerprint scanner. I'm using double tap, but not the gestures in Prime, just the knock on in settings. Works fine with Nova to turn on, but have found the only place I can double tap to turn off is the blank space in the task bar. Works good enough for me.

The problem is with Nova Prime however they have a solution in the works. Right now its only in the Beta version so you have to sign up for that otherwise double tapping to sleep will disable fingerprint unlock. There is usually some warning about this in Nova's setting when you enable double tap to sleep.

Trying the beta now. Not working right. After configuring a double tap to screen lock and Nova, double tapping will turn off both the main screen and second screen. Double tapping to wake device lights up the three bottom buttons and then you must press one of those buttons to wake screen.

Also, if you try this, you must be deselect Nova as an device administrator and when you double tap to lock the first time there will be a new option in the beta to implement the feature. Hopefully this can be fixed in a future beta. I guess I will need to provide some feedback through the beta program for the v20.

While using the double tap to lock on the beta will temporarily turn off both screens the second screen comes back on in less than a minute or so.

I'm using Nova Prime and the FPS on my V20 works great. At 1st it wasn't working that good and then I noticed the plastic film on the FPS. Removed the plastic and it is flawless now.

Yeah. Noticed that second screen comes back for me also after 30 seconds. Thanks for noticing that.

Also thanks for noticing the beta for this issue.

I'm using Nova Prime, as I have for several years. I didn't have a problem with the V10. But with the V20 something weird is going on. I set up the FPS with two fingerprints immediately, and they both worked flawlessly. After several days, though, the second one stopped working at all. When I try to add a second print, I get a message that says the sensor is dirty and needs to be cleaned. But the first print works instantly. The sensor is not dirty, nor is the plastic attached. Does anyone have a solution?

See Nova advanced settings on the main Nova page at the bottom
"screen lock method"

If u use admin, fingerprint is disabled

But if phone is no longer reading print or says the sensor is dirty... It's probably not a nova thing. Test it out with the stock launcher
