Firewall?

Maybe I'm thinking about this the way a former Blackberry user would, but the Blackberry has a Firewall. It doesn't appear as though Android does and there doesn't appear to be any in the Android market beyond Phone number and SMS blocking (neither of which seems to work in the couple of apps available, according to user reviews. Does anyone know of an Android firewall?

If you have root you can install the MIUI ROM. This is the only ROM I have seen that has a firewall option in it.

Yea, won't be rooting, so I'll have just accept that there is no firewall beyond call and SMS blocking and just deal with it. Thanks though.

Woops: it says it requires root! Sorry about that. That looks like the only real firewall app option.

I read about a tool/app that will give you temporary root so you can run apps that require root access. It's called Z4Root. I know nothing about it, but imagine it could work for you in this case.
