Firmware Update Today

Anyone seeing a change in battery drain on your phone? My phone seems to be draining battery faster... I don't normally pay attention to these things but over the past two days... ouch! Only thing I've changed is receiving the S2 update.

Yes. After the update and for the first time since getting the watch, my watch shut off due to low battery between 6 to 7pm today. Before, it would make it to 11pm to 12am from 6:30am in the morning.

I'm hoping it's just an update fluke. I powered off the watch and am letting it charge to 100% to see if that makes any difference.

I was actually referring to battery drain on the phone. FYI - my watch battery seems to be fine.

I originally had an S2 and returned it to try out the Moto360. I didn't love Android Wear (all the cards always at the bottom) so I returned it and went back to the S2. Yesterday I got the new S2 and after my initial setup it gave me a notification to update the watch which I'm guessing was the new firmware. My two biggest complaints were the inaccurate step counter and the weather not updating. The step counter definitely seems to be better on this watch which I'm guessing is due to the firmware rather than the new watch itself. The weather is still not updating.

Weird that my step counter still seems to be counting 25% less steps than my Gear Fit and Gear Live, even after the firmware update that was released this week. Still not happy with step counter. Haven't noticed an increase in phone battery drain, but will monitor.

My "always on" watch hands are disappearing randomly, seemingly after the firmware update. Anyone else experiencing this?

I find before and after update that if, for example, I lay on the couch for awhile, they disappear. Suspect that they time out due to inactivity.

Yes, I see this, too, and I have to turn the face back on with the Home button, as opposed to the wake up gesture or swiping it. Like it's gone into a coma instead of just sleeping.

yeah, that's the same behavior when you don't utilize the ambient watch face. Screen does not reply to touch when completely blank/off.
