Engineer here... it is what it is. If it's only half full then the glass is twice the volume it needs to be.

Unless filling the glass is a process and it just takes time and patience.

And by "broke it for USA users" you mean "intentionally turned off Exchange content on the Gear for ONLY USA users."

The code shows they did this intentionally. Took away stock functionality that shipped with the watch. *&^%ers.

nope not in Atlanta and I just got fed up and did it myself and let me tell you it make the watch a whole lot better. I am now loading candy crush and going to see if you can really download and watch a movie on it

I broke down and loaded tbe UK software as listed here and man what a difference...was easy to do once I got into download mode

Did my update, no longer will I wait for Samsung on updating my GG. Its now well past the promised release date in the US and there is no excuse for that. Still can't buy a spare charger cradle either unless you buy it off ebay for $50 and you get a random color shipped. Why is that, only sold in S.Korea way to screw your customers Samsung.

Check Best Buy for a spare battery and charging cradle. Several of them near me have had them for a few weeks for $49.

I bought the Gear after hearing about the firmware update that was supposed address the biggest shortcomings (3rd party notifications). Still waiting for the update. Tried side loading using Odin but it failed. C'mon, Samsung.

I too am so annoyed with this. I had the Sony smartwatch last year and it had the ability to see the body of most messages, etc. and I know how much better the gear will be once it has the update. I don't know why this is taking so long!

Question, if I manually update using the UK version, I will no longer receive an update notice for the US one, right?...I'd have to flash it manually over to the US when it comes out, correct?

No I loaded it manually and it's been working fine since.

The update should be pretty easy, depending on whose instructions you are reading. Here are the instructions I followed and make sure you are using the latest odin 3.09 and you extract the files to be loaded via odin.

How to manual update GEAR using Odin.
Press the GEAR power button until Rebooting wording appear.
Continue press until appear selection of Continue/Download/Recovery.
Select Download using power button.
Press the screen to go in Download mode.
Connect GEAR to PC Odin.
Select AP at PC Odin.
Attached the downloaded file from Sammobile, remember extract the download zip file. The end extension after extract is .tar.md5
Wait PC install the driver for GEAR.
Click Start at PC Odin for flashing the new firmware.
