First apps for your TB?

This is a great thread for a newbie like myself that is getting an Android phone for the first time. Its cool to be able to see the popular Apps that everyone loves to use!

I agree! I'm spending some time now searching for the apps to see what they all are... great way to get ideas for new apps to install :)

No worries. Android has all of these apps and then some. Not to mention, it's rumored Blackberry will be releasing the BBM app to Android soon.

i don't have an android phone, but what i will miss from my crackberry & install is Tether, Dropbox, SmrtGuard, Poynt, Evernote, CalorieCounter, Flixster, Pandora, and some sort of MSN IM chat client.

Hey guys...I've played with a lot of Androids and configd them for several people, but not day to day so I'm only familiar with 20-25 apps. Any chance you could include a 3-4 word description for kinda noobs like myself? Whats poweramp? And maybe notate if they're root only?

Power Amp is a full feature replacement music player. I prefer it over my stock music player.

Afraid I have no clue. I first want to see what the default apps are and can do for me. I'm really hoping that I don't have to spend a lot of money on apps like I did on my Storm. I'll prolly be bugging the heck out of board members here when I figure out what I would need or want, though. Going to try to avoid making the same mistakes over again.

Actually, it's to bad we don't have phone in hand cuz Handango is running a Free Apps thing in case anyone is interested.

Check out Android market and Appbrain. You can search for the apps that are comparable to your BB apps. Most are free and not like BB apps at all. I too had the Storm(s) at 1 point so a "true" touchscreen is what I'm looking to try also.

OK, since this is going to be my very first Android phone, I would like to ask a question here. I know that I could do a google search and come up with some sites to look at, but then I still wouldn't know which one or ones that would be good or that many of you use. So, the question is this...........

What is going to be a good site or sites to start searching for apps for the new TB when I finally get it?

Thanks in advance!

I use this site, XDA, and appbrain. With appbrain you can create a list of apps, read reviews, etc. then when you get the phone install appbrain and the apps you saved will be on your list.

Thanks for listing pulse reader. I have gone through hundreds of reviews looking for something like that and that one is exactly what I want.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the most needed app for all Android phones.... Advanced Task Killer.....:)

I heard you can't tag photos on Facebook for Android. If that's correct what's the next best Facebook app to use? Is it better to use the app for everything else and mobile Facebook for tagging photos?
