Hello all. Just bought my first android(acer liquid e) after using blackberries for my last 4 phones. What a change.
Got a few questions to start.

Is there a way to have the phone NOT go into auto lock as soon as the screen goes dark? It drives me nuts to have to unlock it all the time if I'm say, using the calculator here and there. I'd like it to only lock when I choose to.

And second, how is everyone's battery life? Granted I've been playing with the phone a lot today, but it has hardly lasted 6 hours and it's in need of charge. I've never had to do that with any of my BBies.

Thanks for any input.

you can increase the time it takes to make the screen go dark in settings.

battery life is an issue for most android phones, mainly because of running simultaneous apps. It is a tradeoff you make for having added power and whatnot. You might be able to get an additional battery, otherwise there are numerous threads about extending battery life.

Thanks for the reply. It's not that I don't want the phone to go dark necessarily. Just that I wish it didn't automatically lock when it does. I guess there's no way to shut off auto lock? I searched the phone for something, but again, I'm pretty new to android. Now I know how all the newbies felt on the blackberry forums when I was helping them. It all seemed so obvious then, now on the other side of the coin, not so much. lol
