First Thunderbolt Custom ROM?

Has there ever been a case on a new htc phone recently where it can't be rooted?

Eris took quite a while, 1.5 was never truely rooted (We got an engineering update to 2.1).

i like the look of CM6 (mainly because i love Vanilla) but i've heard some bad things about unrEVOked. I definitely don't want to be messing up my first Android device, anyone know any of the problems surrounding unrEVOked?

I used unrevoked on my incredible and it took about 5 minutes. Was super easy and i had no problems. (on a mac cpu)

If i get a thunderbolt i'll probably mess with sense 2.0 until root is worked out and cm7 is supported.
