Hello guys/gals

I am going to install this

[JB:CM10:HYBRD][E4GT] PARANOIDANDROID [2.10-1, True HybridMode][09/06/12]

ICS is awful for battery life amongst other things that are wrong with my phone...

Anyways like i said this is my FIRST time and want to verify what im doing is correct..ik that link has instructions but they are very short and limited

I have rooted my phone via odin...I really don't have a clear set of instructions on what to do next. I have tried researching but i dont have enough base knowledge to fully understand.

If you can refer me to a great beginners guide to get this started, id be much appreciated.

so essentially..

1. will this work with my phone?
2. i know there is a bug with the kernel, how do i safeguard it?

thanks,

- Joseph

i would recommend watching some of Qbking77's youtube videos he is awesome about going throughout the process clearly step by step the entire way. I came from two LG phones and this was very different, being I paid alot more and actually really like this phone wanted to be sure I knew exactly what I was doing.

Just so you know I believe they Are up to 2.16 right now.

sent from my BAD A$$ Epic touch

The kernel issue is no big deal as long as you install a "safe" kernel first. I would recommend flashing the EL26 kernel via mobile odin (it's free on XDA or available for purchase in the Play Store to support the developer) then rebooting into recovery. From there you can wipe/factory reset then install the ROM .zip file.

Here is qbKing77's page with how-to's for the Epic4G Touch which you'll find very useful: Hacks/Other - QbKing77.com

He usually references links in the description.

IMO, you should try a stable ICS Rooted Rom before you start getting in to some of the JB Hybrids. Play with something like CM9 for a week or so. It will help you learn how to tweak the JB's to get better functionality out of them.
