First time I've ever not liked a Note :(

I'm blown away. I got a really good deal on a Note 20 through VZW and was excited because I had not planned on buying one especially through a carrier. But @ $12.46 per month I couldn't pass it up.

Took it home and quickly found out I didn't like it at all. The most glaring eye opener? NO SD CARD SLOT! I agree I should have researched or asked but I didn't. This purchase caught me off guard ... so I guess it's my bad. The cheap plastic case was a real turn off and the side buttons way to hard to push to be considered convenient. I have the beginnings of arthritis in my hands so I need something easier to push.

Just very disappointed all the way around and no, I'm not spending an extra $400 to get an SD CARD slot. I took it for granted that phone makers learned their lesson a few years ago when they started removing SD CARD slots but I guess I was wrong. Bummer.

Just passing along my thoughts.

I'm surprised, the members that purchased the regular Note 20 were happy with it .

I generally find that buttons tend to loosen up with use. If you are not committed to the phone where you cannot return it, I think that might become less of an issue with use. I know a few folks who have the regular Note who like the "glastic" back claiming it is lighter in the hand. I can't compare having the Note Ultra, but they seem happy with the smaller/lighter footprint of the regular Note.

But, if you are not happy with it, hopefully, you were able to return it for something that works better for you? Or did you go back to your previous phone?

Whatever you buy I recommend checking one out in a store first to see if you like it

I would return it, and spend some of that money on a Note 10+, and have a bunch of cash leftover while still having 90% of the N20 experience.

I think you would get better value out of the S20 FE for $599 from Best Buy vs. the Note20 at $899 at Best Buy unless you absolutely need the S-Pen.

I habe The 20 and its The besr more to date for me no issues at all. It's super fast and never fails or disappoint me at all. I have had every note and by far the note 20 is the best!!!

It doesn't even deserve to be called *the regular*
It should be *the retarded* or *the amputated*
My apologies to anyone who is genuinely retarded or amputated
Great device for me no issues super fast and responsive. I don't need the other features and the larger size is hard for me to hold with my arthritis so the smaller device was my choice and to each his own. It's the same device less a few features that's all.

Sorry to hear you're disappointed with your phone. Very few flagship level phones have SD card expandability these days, which is one of the primary reason we went with the Ultra 20's over the smaller one. They all want to push you to use and pay for "cloud" storage.

Although many people are happy with the plain Note20, many have pointed out that it's not a fully high-end phone, even though it uses the Note name. The real Note this time is the Note20 Ultra. And no, the SD card slot is just one of many significant advantages of the Note20 Ultra. I hope you can return the Note20 and find something you prefer.

Interesting. I really like my Note 20. Would I have preferred glass to plastic? Yeah. ...but I keep my phone in a case so, for me, its a non-issue. I do love the flat display and if I had to choose between a plastic back and a flat display I'd take the flat display 9 out of 10 times. I haven't noticed the stiff buttons but that could be annoying. It just goes to show how many variables affect our tastes. Good luck!

I didn't even consider it for that reason, but bought the 20 Ultra instead. I can understand the comments on price, but the 20 Ultra is a great phone.

@ShaggyKids

Were the buttons hard to push with our without a case?

Without, I wasn't going to buy a case until I found out if I was keeping the phone or not. It may be fine for people who have full use of their hands, but mine are on the weak side due to age and arthritis so that's prolly why.

Sorry to read about disappointment. I have Note Ultra and it comes with a SD card slot. Decided on Spigen case. Loving phone and case so far.

To each his own but the note 20 is a super device IMO can't see anything wrong with it.
It's actually the first smart phone I don't have any complaints about! No SD card you are safer with cloud storage plastic back who cares most devices had plastic backs and with a case on again who cares!

I remember when it was decided, several years ago, that glass was more desirable as a phone backing than plastic. When everyone was ranting that Samsung needed to use a more premium material. I also remember how awesome the Nokia phones of old were...and they were plastic. What is the price cut-off for when a phone needs to have the more premium-feeling/more durable of materials? Its certainly shifting.
