So after booting my iphone across a supermarket aisle yesterday, I needed a phone so I went to the sony store and bought a z3 compact. (dropped my iphone, went to stick my foot out so it wouldn't have as hard of an impact...ended up booting it half way down the aisle.)

So, some things I need help with are:

keyboard - I like auto correct, but I cant stand the word suggestion tab and it seems that if I want auto correct on, I have to have that tab up as well. (looking for something similar to iphone, where it'll just change itself if it needs to.)

texting - I'm trying to text a few cousins and it wont let me. If I try to start the message it'll say "cannot send message, message has no valid recipient". If I'm replying to them, it put my replies in a separate chat box...so all of his messages are in one chat window, and i have to go out and select a different window to view all of my replies to him.

Welcome to the forums. You might be just having issues with the stock messaging app. You can try Google messenger or Textra. Both are free on Play.

As for the auto correct...go to settings>language and input. Click your settings icon to the right of your keyboard, and you can turn off the show correction suggestions off.

Thanks, I'll have to look into textra!

As for the show correct suggestion, I must be blind cause I cant find it :(

i click the settings button -> word suggestions --> and from there my choices are:

I want to have my typos auto corrected
I only want upper case and accented letters automatically
I never want to have any words or letters replaced
I don't want any help when writing, not even suggestions.

If i select that last one, its the only one where the suggestive word bar disappears, but then I don't have an auto correct. Am I blind and missing something somewhere? :s

(sorry, I'm only on day 2 of having an android, after having an iphone since the first day they were ever released in canada :p )

Do your cousins have iPhone? We're your using imessaging and did you turn it off on your account?. Also don't know if your version has it by go into settings >call settings and uncheck Enable VoLTE.

It might be the difference in keyboards. There are others in Play, like Google and Swiftkey.
