First to break it?

Well, I think it is safe to say I'm the first one to break their S26U. Yeah, this phone is slippery.

I got home from work today and it slipped right out of my hand as I was gathering my things, face down on the concrete driveway. At first, I thought it was fine because I couldn't see anything. It is hard to see even now, but on the bottom left corner you can see the glass has an imperfection that is sharp and pokes you if you touch it. If you angle the phone just right, you can see 3 lines about an inch long each from a spider crack in that corner. 🥹🤬 My wife goes - well that is why we got insurance - take it in when you can't stand it anymore. I have only had the phone 1 week exactly. The screen protector and case did nothing. I had to think about it - it has been 15 years since I broke my last phone - a Samsung Reclaim. 😂

Frustrated!!! 💩

I have a case. That side of the phone is fine. I am just getting used to it and realized that this case doesn't offer much edge protection. I thought the screen protector would help that. Nope.

Oh nooo :(

You may want to check your homeowners or renters insurance policy. Some offer coverage for mobile phone damage.

I pay my mobile bill with Amex Platinum which automatically covers my S25U.

I use cases that protect all the way around the edge. UAG Ultra Essential Armor is what I went with for my S25U.

I would highly suggest never turn a small item such as a phone into home or renters insurance b most agents will tell you the same thing. Getting rate hikes it cancelled for a small claim not good. That's just my opinion

Yes, definitely not a good idea to put in a homeowner's claim. Your deductible is probably $500 or $1000 so you wouldn't get much and then there's a chance they drop you on renewal and almost certainly raise your rate.
Having said that, I'm so sorry to hear that this happened. At least it's not your health.
Good luck however you choose to deal with this.

I didn't read the OP but I know if you paid it with your credit card, see if you're covered. My Visa covers me $2,000 but I never buy my ones outright.

I've only cracked one phone screen. It was my Huawei P30 Pro, long time ago.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I have insurance on the phone and will bring it in one of these days when it bugs me too much for replacement. Right now, with the screen protector that is on there in direct view when using the phone, you can't even see it at all unless it gets worse - which it probably will.

It is pretty sad that a fall of less that 3 feet did that. Oh well. It has been 15 years since I damaged a phone, so I guess I'm due. 😆

Oh man, that sucks. Glad you have the insurance. I dropped my Flip (forget which version) and it hit tile floor while it was folded. Couldn't open it past 90 degrees and no insurance. I did have a crap case on though. Was going for cute (had kitties on it) instead of sturdy.

Stuff happens. Glad that you have some form of coverage.
