FitBit 2.25 HTC One M8 pedometer

After FitBit upgrade to latest version step counter stop working. After reinstalling FitBit I'm not able to add mobilphone pedometer to FitBit devices - is not available in list of devices.

Beginning in mid-May 2016, we'll no longer provide support for the MobileTrack feature on HTC One M8 mobile devices. Recently, Google and HTC made some changes that prevents the MobileTrack feature from functioning properly in the Fitbit app for Android on the HTC One M8 device. The focus of our efforts moving forward will be to provide MobileTrack on a larger number of newer Android mobile devices.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We recommend using a Fitbit tracker to continue tracking your activity.

You will have to roll back your fitbit app to 2.24 apk in order for it to continue to work again. Also disable auto update for this app in order for it to continue to work. Must be some unhappy financial folks not making enough money at fitbit?

I've already done this on my HTC One M8 -
1 - uninstall fitbit app
2 - download fitbit 2.24 apk can get from here - Fitbit 2.24 APK Download by Fitbit, Inc. - APKMirror
3 - install version 2.24 apk after download - may have to allow your phone to install apps not from Google Play store - it's ok it works and no issues =)
4 - enjoy your step counter now working again on your phone =)

Cheers!

Pretty ridiculous that they stopped support not to mention unnecessary as it was working fine :/

Any other apps good for monitoring steps as an alternative anybody?

Thanks a million.
almost had to buy a tracker.

May the Almighty bring help you in a better way than you helped me. Ameen.

I was happy to find this thread as it was the only one i'd discovered that fixed (part) of my issue.

I've only recently found that the Fitbit app can handle multiple trackers, one being MobileTrack.

I forget my "One" very often is swapping out pants... it'll often lay in my work pants while i'm our running/walking sadly.

The rollback to 2.24 DID show me the option for MobileTrack... but when i click to "set up my phone"
I receive the error "MobileTrack can not currently be paired with other trackers, please remove you other tracker pairings first"

I'm left assuming that while the OLDER app allows for mobiletrack only the NEWER version allows for multiple "trackers"

Might anyone know of a work-around?

Robert

I think the same thing happened to me too. Unfortunately, i couldn't think of a workaround.
