Boy, I sure have. The wifi issue counting as data I believe is now fixed. Plenty of people reported the battery issue, particularly when using qi charging. That I believe is fixed, too. Wifi range issues were reported by a few people early on, particularly compared with the Droid Maxx and Samsung phones that people previously owned. The Bluetooth sound issue I've noticed on other moto phones - it's not just the turbo. Switching to art I know used to cause that optimizing apps issue on restart - I don't know if that is still an issue. There are also plenty of low volume while in calls complaints I've read, but that may now be solved with one of the OTA updates.

That's a decent post, but I do think that at least some of those issues were solved with one of the OTA updates.

Honestly I have only 1 minor annoyance with my phone. The top 1/3 of the screen is always a little bit reddish when displaying a white webpage. Other than that my phone is flawless

Luckily I've never had any of these problems either. I never had the volume issue once I figured out where the speaker was actually located.

The optimizing apps issue still exists. Still in the neighborhood of 70 apps on my Turbo.

Oh, it's only an issue with ART. I have Dalvik active right now. I used ART with my Droid Maxx without any issues at all, which is why I consider it to be an "issue" on the Turbo. I realize that it isn't supposed to work yet on KK. It's just somewhat odd that it worked flawlessly on an earlier phone.

It's really an issue with one of the pre-installed Verizon apps, which isn't art compatible. Unfortunately the art optimization never tells which one it is, but I'm sure we can guess. Droid command center? Something that's on the turbo, not on the Maxx...

#6 is a case of being right, but for the wrong reason. The "calibration" file keeps track of which apps are using what percent of power, not the State of Charge of the battery. That's determined by measuring the voltage of the battery and comparing it to the known voltage vs. State of Charge for that kind of Lithium battery. It's an approximation, and on a battery that hasn't been conditioned, the actual curve is far from the one used. Fully charging, then fully discharging the battery 3 times is how you condition it. Then the battery follows the same curve that the phone is using.

My experience running it without issue on my Droid Maxx was that it ran faster and smoother than Dalvik. Not 3x as fast,, but certainy a noticable bump.

I was told that it would make a difference, but it didn't seem any different to me on my old Maxx. People who were using a pretty release version of LP, which is made to run ART only, said you'd see a major difference on it, and they were right. Normally my home screen widgets would take around 5-20 seconds to load, and that includes my Nexus7. After the LP update it's more like 1-5 seconds to load, so once we do get LP, hopefully that affects performance across the board.

Maybe I'm confused, but I thought I read somewhere that an app has to be coded to take advantage of ART. That would explain why some see a performance boost and other don't.

One of the advantages of ART is more efficient garbage collection (i.e., faster reclamation of memory allocated by an app that is no longer being used), with the most visible result being much better scrolling performance, and all apps see this. That said, I have to say that on Dalvik the only times that I notice scrolling issues is when the Play Store is downloading and installing updates in the background. Any other time, it is rare that I see scroll stutter.

On the Droid Maxx I spent months flipping between 2 weeks on ART and 2 weeks on Dalvik. I saw very little difference in performance or battery life between the two when used for a couple of weeks like that, and could never tell which one I was running.

On KitKat I believe that ART was still not completely optimized for speed - it was meant specifically for developers to make sure that their apps would be ready when ART became the only runtime. I am sure that performance is better on Lollipop.

It's happening on the Turbo 2 as well?... That's pretty crazy.
