Just FYI...
I had a situation after getting the new Market app where every time I went to "MyApps" it would show that Blockbuster had an update available. However, when I clicked on Update, I would be taken to a screen that had a choice of only "Open". It used to have choices of "Uninstall" and "Open", but after choosing "Uninstall" out of frustration, it only had "Open" from then on.
Anyway, to add to the frustration, tonight I get a Notification Bar notification about there being an Update available. I was not in the Market at all and I have configured all of my apps, including Blockbuster, to NOT notify me of updates. I clicked on the Notification and what do you know... it was Blockbuster, again! I clicked on Update and got the same thing (only had "Open" to choose). Damn. This was annoying enough that I had to ignore it all the time whenever I went into the Market, but now the damed thing is sending me actual Android "Notifications" in the Notification Bar.
The above made me mad enough to do what I had considered before - I went into Manage Applications/Market and cleared not only the Cache, but also the Data. You get an ugly ("you're gonna lose important stuff, you idiot" type of message, so I was reluctant to do it before). Anyway, I did it. I deleted the data, then force closed.
Upon starting the Market back up, I was shown the accept-terms screen, clicked [OK] and now my new Market is FIXED! Yay! I don't have that stupid Update notice for Blockbuster anymore. It also shows all my apps correctly. I suppose this might work for other erroneous update notices too.
BTW, I actually do use Blockbuster. So I checked afterward and it still works fine.
